Gary's model for Romford

Although this model took two years to construct, it was finished during the Lockdown in July 2020.

This class 307 electric multiple unit, was constructed from Replica Railways BR Mark 1 suburban coach bodies, cabs and chassis. BR Mark 2 bogie sides sourced from EKM Exhibitions were attached to Comet bogies. My attention now turned to the underframe detail which was challenging due to an absence of information on the web. The under-frame detail was an exercise on scratc…

James has an primary interest in railways, but also anything military from the 2nd world war period, and is populating his layout with planes, boats and tanks.

John's scratchbuilt models

All are O gauge vehicles, based (not rigidly) on SE&CR
prototypes and were scratch built from Plastikard for the South Pole
Light Railway (Mk.5). Axleguards are a generic type from Invertrain and
fitted with Heywood wheel sets. Buffers are from Connoisseur models,
left over from a couple of NER 4 wheel coach kits, (Jim supplied loads
of these). Couplings are modified 4mm scale Sprat and Winkles per
Crawley MRC's specification. The unusual brake vehicle is based on the…

The Oil Drum Brazier is in HO scale.

The oil drum is a Grandt Line product, suitably distressed and with an 0603 Super Golden White LED and resistor added in the bottom, carefully positioned so that it also shines out of a rusty hole in the side of the drum. See the burned circle of ash and scorched grass around it, too.

Pete's lockdown model of an SECR D class

After suffering a serious illness in 2020, Pete was not going to be able to complete the D class kit which he'd begun. So four of his mates at the club decided to finish it off for him. We decided to divide up the work between us, one completing the tender, one building the loco body, one the chassis while the fourth was lined up ready to paint.

(e.g. below the tender running plate). Now awaiting number plates and crew.

I decided to build the pagoda shelter which was on Minehead Platform in the early days of the 20th Century. It was used for Parcels and as a Cloak Room. In the period I'm modelling it was moved to the Goods Yard, when the station building was extended.
